For our community, Pancake Day is more than just delicious food—it’s a time to gather with friends, kick off the holiday season, and support the many local charities that make Miamisburg a wonderful place to live.

Pancake Day has been a tradition since 1961, when the Miamisburg Rotary Club, led by Hubert “Hubie” Fields and Dr. Glen Brandon, started this event to bring the community together and raise funds for local causes. Today, it remains one of our largest fundraisers, thanks to the dedication of our Rotarians, sponsors, the Miamisburg High School Interact Club, and volunteers.

Where the Proceeds Go:
Every dollar raised supports local charities and initiatives, including scholarships, youth programs, food assistance, the Miamisburg Historical Society, and more. Pancake Day helps raise around $15,000 each year for organizations like the Dr. Glen Brandon and HV Bear scholarship funds, Children’s Performing Arts, Helping Hands Food Pantry, Club Impact at the Miamisburg Youth Center, and many others.

Topic Description:
This presentation examines the historical and cultural value of everyday life stories and how preserving personal memories strengthens family connection and resilience across generations. The program also addresses common misconceptions about personal-history preservation and offers practical ways individuals and families can ensure their life stories are preserved and learned from by those who follow.

Speaker Bio:
Tammie Schuesler is the founder of Bios Legacy, a personal-history preservation service dedicated to safeguarding life stories for future generations. Through guided interviews and archival-quality recordings, she helps individuals and families preserve voices, memories, and lived experiences that might otherwise be lost. Her work focuses on the cultural, personal, and intergenerational value of preserving personal histories and the lessons they offer those who come after us.

This is a fun-filled evening supporting a great cause. Come place your bids and cheer on your favorite horses!

We expect 20 - 24 representatives of the beneficiary organizations.

Many of the places that helped make Dayton a center of innovation were lost to history, while others survived and adapted, representing the city's spirit of revitalization.

Some of the city's distinctive and significant structures, such as Steele High School and the Callahan Building, were demolished, while others, including the Arcade and Centre City Building, saw hard times but now await redevelopment. Entire neighborhoods, such as the Haymarket, and commercial districts, such as West Fifth Street, vanished and show no traces of their past. Others, including the popular Oregon District, narrowly escaped the wrecking ball. From the Wright Brothers Factory to the park that hosted the first NFL game, Andrew Walsh explores the diverse selection of retail, industrial, entertainment and residential sites from Dayton's disappearing legacy.

We may have time to do the table set-up for Saturday's event.

Join Rotary Club of Miamisburg as we staff the Spring Fest Beer Tent! This is our annual fundraiser where Rotary volunteers run the beer service at Spring Fest. All proceeds support Rotary community service projects.
